Parameter Optimization of Thermal Shrinkage Technique for Simple Numerical Simulation of Welding Angular Distortion

The thermal shrinkage technique, which uses strain to determine weld distortion, shows promise as a simple simulation for predicting the distortion of large welded structures. To date, there has not been adequate research on how set input data based welding conditions. In this work, we perform parametric study using technique in vary investigate optimum setting method. compare angular obtained by Metal active gas was conducted under five conditions and elastic-plastic analysis same condition. Under all conditions, accurately reproduced that experiments analysis. We found settings were −0.012 zone maximum temperature reached 500°C or more. From results, similarity difference between characteristics discussed inherent moment. Moreover, way both-ends-fixed-bar analogy occurred can explain agreement case settings. Our results demonstrate suitable method established.
